XP background maker
Make your own backgrounds and frames for the .xp card of your self-hosted NadekoBot.
Crop a picture to the card and see it with the card's labels, then download the two pictures and copy the entry for
data/xp.yml. Everything happens in your browser; the picture is never uploaded. On the public NadekoBot,
members buy their background in the XP shop.

The key is what people type: .xpshopbuy bg key. Never change it after people bought the item.
The public bot's pictures are on https://cdn.nadeko.bot/xp. A self-hosted bot can use any https address.

Design it in Photoshop or another editor
The template is the empty card at 500x245: the card labels, the dark band behind them, and a guide layer that shows where the bot writes the name, level, rank and xp. Put your picture under the labels, hide the guide, and save a 500x245 PNG.
The PSD opens in Photoshop, Photopea, GIMP and Krita. The ZIP has the same layers as separate PNGs, the labels as an SVG and a short readme.
- Put your picture in the "Your picture" layer, or in a new layer just above it.
- Keep the "Card labels" layer: every background in the shop has these labels. The shade under them is optional.
- Hide the "Guide" layer, then save a PNG of the whole card.
-
Open the PNG above with Draw the card labels turned off, since your picture has them already. The maker makes
the preview and the
xp.ymlentry.
Adding the item to the bot
- Upload both pictures to the folders shown under Files, with the file names shown there.
-
Paste the entry at the end of the
bgs:list (backgrounds) or theframes:list in theshop:section ofdata/xp.yml. The lines are already indented to fit. - Run
.configreload xpas the bot owner, then check the item with .xpshop. -
To stop selling an item but let its owners keep it, set its price to
-1. Removing or renaming a key takes the item away from everyone who bought it. - A frame is drawn over the whole card, on top of the name, the level and the xp bar, so use a PNG with a see-through middle.
